After breakfast at the hotel, start your day with a sightseeing tour of the UNESCO Heritage Sites: Swayambhunath Stupa, Kathmandu Durbar Square, and Patan Durbar Square.

Swayambhunath stupa: Said to be around 2000 years old, this Buddhist stupa sits atop a hill. The main stupa is composed of a solid hemisphere of brick and earth supporting a lofty conical spire crowned by a pinnacle of copper gilt. Painted on the four sided base of the spire are the all-seeing eyes of Lord Buddha. The hill of Swayambhu is a mosaic of small Chaityas and Pagoda temples. You’ll get a scenic view of Kathmandu from there.

Kathmandu Durbar Square: The Durbar Square, with its arrays of temples, courtyards, monuments, and ancient palaces of the former Nepali royals, is located in Basantapur, in the heart of Kathmandu city. It is known as Hanumandhoka Durbar Square, a name derived from a statue of Hanuman, the monkey devotee of Lord Ram, at the entrance of the palace. The palace is decorated with elaborately carved wooden windows and panels.

Located at the heart of an ancient city in Kathmandu, Durbar Square is surrounded by both Hindu and Buddhist temples. Most of them are built in pagoda style, embellished with intricately carved exteriors. The Durbar Square, with its old temples and palace, summarizes the religious and cultural life of the people.

Patan Durbar Square: Located about 5 km south of Kathmandu, Patan is one of 3 royal cities in the valley. A destination for connoisseurs of fine arts, Patan is filled with wood and stone carvings, metal statues, ornate architecture, including dozens of Buddhist and Hindu temples, and over 1200 monuments. Patan is believed to have been built in the 3rd century B.C. by the Kirat dynasty, which was later expanded and enriched by the Lichhavi and Malla rulers in the medieval period. Patan Durbar Square, like its counterpart in Kathmandu, is an enchanting mélange of palace buildings, artistic courtyards, and graceful pagoda temples. The former Royal Palace complex is the center of Patan’s religious and social life, and houses a beautiful museum.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the domestic terminal of Tribhuvan International Airport to board a short, 25-minute flight to the beautiful city of Pokhara.

Pokhara is a remarkable place of natural beauty.  At an elevation lower than that of Kathmandu, it has a much more tropical feel to it, a fact well appreciated by the beautiful, diverse flowers that prosper in this environment. The enchanting city has several beautiful lakes and offers stunning panoramic views of Himalayan peaks.

In Pokhara, visit the following places:

Gurkha Museum: Gurkha soldiers joined the British Army in 1815 and later the Indian Army after its independence in 1947. The museum concentrates on the history of the current British Army and the Indian Army. The displays include hundreds of photographs of the many campaigns they took part in and their regimental life. The 3-floor galleries are brought alive by sound and colored light. Displays also include uniforms they wore, items they used, and medals they won. Details of the Gurkha Victoria Cross winners, the highest bravery medal, and their citations can also be viewed.

Seti River Gorge: ‘Seti’ means white in Nepali, and that’s how the famous Seti River got its name with its flowing silver white water. It silently flows in the center of the valley, carving out a wonderful gorge. The Seti Gorge comprises the deep rifts of the Conglomerate Mountains, carved up to 40 to 50 meters deep, which could mostly be witnessed from the KI Singh Bridge at Bagar, Mahendra Bridge at Mahendrapool Market, and the Chinese Bridge at Lakhanchowk.

International Mountain Museum: With the objective of maintaining systematic records of the successful eight thousanders, geographic flora and fauna, and human activities in the range, the International Mountain Museum has been established at the footstep of Fishtail Peak and the gateway to the mountain region. The shape of the museum roof itself resembles a mountain skyline to any visitor before entering the museum main gate.

Early in the morning, drive to Sarangkot to view the sunrise. This place is located 9 kilometers to the north west of Pokhara and is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Nepal. Conveniently perched high on the top of a ridge at 1,592 m, the serene hill resort offers a spectacular panorama of the entire Annapurna range stretching from east to west and the unspoiled rural settlements just below those towering peaks. Viewing 700m. Down from the top of Sarangkot, you can see awesome sights of the stretching Pokhara Valley, Phewa Lake, and many more.

Then hike to the World Peace Pagoda, which sits atop a hill overlooking the Annapurna Mountain Range, which reflects off Lake Phewa below. It is truly one of the more serene peace pagodas in the world. Built just after World War II by Buddhist monks from the Japanese Nipponzan Myohoji organization, the World Peace Pagoda is one of over 80 world peace pagodas in the world today. They are built to inspire peace for all races & creeds.
Later, visit Devis Falls and Gupteshwor Cave.

Devis Falls: Locally known as Patale Chhango (Hell's Falls), Devi's Falls (also known as David's) is an awesome waterfall lying about 2 km south-west of Pokhara airport on the highway to Tansen. An interesting modern legend says that a foreigner named David was skinny dipping in the Pardi Khola (river) when the floodgates of the dam were opened, sweeping him into an underground passage beneath the fall, never to be seen again.

Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave: Located close to Davis Falls on the other side of the World Peace Stupa, the Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave is Nepal's most famous cave. The cave is said to have been discovered in the 16th century. The main cave contains two chambers with several shrines located throughout. The largest of these shrines is dedicated to Shiva.

The day will keep you busy with a close encounter with all sorts of flora and fauna that Chitwan National Park has to offer in its lap, facilitated by a number of activities spread over the entire day. We will try to include all of the activities, depending on the availability of time slots.

Jungle Safari (Jeep Safari): Jeep safari is one of the two options that allows you to see the wildlife in Chitwan. You have two options, a short safari that takes about 4 hours and a full-day safari. During this trip, you will stop at places and show the animals, as well as provide information about wildlife and the environment.

During a jeep safari, you should not wear bright colors, as that will scare the animals. Colors like white, black, gray, and dark green are preferred so that you blend well with the environment.

Canoeing: Canoeing is a popular water-based activity in Chitwan, typically conducted on traditional dugout canoes. Canoe trips usually follow a scenic route along the Rapti River, providing a unique perspective of the park’s landscape and riverine ecosystem.

As you embark on the journey down the Rapti River, you will get a chance to observe the exotic species of birds, reptiles, and many other animals that come for a sip at the water edge or stay in the wetlands. A canoe ride gives an opportunity to take a close view of the popular Marsha Mugger or Gharial crocodiles in their natural habitat or bask motionlessly under the sun with their snout wide open.

Tours are led by trained canoe guides who are familiar with the local flora and fauna and the behavior of wildlife along the river. Safety measures are usually provided for participants, ensuring a secure and enjoyable experience.

Later in the evening, there will be entertainment through the Tharu Stick Dance. You are more than welcome to join the village girls and boys as they move their hips in a local rhythm.
